We had a few candy seekers on Halloween… I was going to take pictures of all of them, but I forgot, or got lazy or something.

Our next door neighbor, Phil, was escorting kids as they made their rounds, but unfortunately got picked up by a big green alien. Pretty cool outfit! (He was restored to his home at the end of the evening.)

Saturday night was a barn party! We almost didn’t go, because it was forecast to be bitterly cold! But we could always shelter in the barn, right? Well, yes we could, because this wasn’t just an old weathered barn with straw on the floor! A huge, clean and crowded barn! We had a potluck dinner (for a few hundred people!) and then there were lots of crazy games.

A bounce house for the kids, hay rides behind a tractor, and a fire to warm up by. (or you could skip the outside stuff and stay pretty warm in the barn.)

Becky and Kevin staffed the hot chocolate bar…

A crazy hat competition produced some very bizarre headgear! Including Steve, the M.C., who wore a long strawberry blonde wig.

A tug of war was run a few times, not to mention the do-nut eating relay, and even several cake walk competitions.

It turned out to be not quite as cold as predicted, and we all had a great time!

Dayna’s last volleyball tournament was Sunday, and her team won all the games! Yay! And that’s not because Becky and Kevin were asked to be scorekeepers! It has been fun to watch the team as they grow more and more proficient. They will resume in the spring, but for now, it’s sad that it’s the last for the season.

Speaking of seasons, Fall is Falling pretty fast around here! Some areas the trees are full of fantastic color, some areas the leaves are pretty much on the ground already. Here’s a backyard (not ours) that has a bit of both.

For those of you who miss seeing pictures of me working on our motorhome, here is a mess I made changing a bathroom fan in our rental house… We thought more light would be nice, so I am replacing the fans with light/fan combo units. I had forgotten how much insulation was going to cascade down when I pulled the old unit out. What a mess! FYI, I did get the new one in, and the mess cleaned up. The light is a nice addition, and now I can look forward to two more! Maybe I’ll put finished pictures up later.
