Grad Day!

Landscaping Continues!

We are very excited to have trees arriving, rocks showing up, and just lots of stuff getting planted!

Yes, lots of good looking dirt too!

It is fun to watch the little Bobcat carry rocks, trees, dirt… whatever is needed. But when this next vehicle drove by a block away, I was glad it wasn’t going in our back yard!

We have a little wood carving club getting started in our garage. One clever member, Alan, chose a beautiful piece of walnut for his first project. He drew his little bear on the walnut, and proceeded to make it come to life! An amazing first carving project!

We are so grateful to have wonderful grandkids close by! They dropped by one afternoon to see how the landscaping project was going. More good news! Cherryl had just finished making some sourdough popovers, and they were fantastic! So we were able to share, and grandkid were able to smile!

Another afternoon it was raining, so no landscaping to watch, but the grands had some very colorful projects they could do inside. Such fun to watch the great creativity!

Wednesday morning we left on an early flight to Spokane. Here’s my only picture of the trip – the tower at Lincoln airport.

The excuse for the trip was Bryan’s eighth grade graduation. He’s gotten so big, and now he’s headed for high school! We had Becky make some of her awesome chocolate for a tasty graduation gift.

Thursday morning I had the privilege of helping decorate the gym for the graduation program that evening. We had a couple of ladies inflating balloons with a powered pump, and we attached them to little rings, then formed them into columns and arches. We worked with A LOT of balloons! When we finished, it really did look nice!

So Bryan is getting super tall and handsome!

His class at the private Christian school had 11 8th graders. They all presented in some way for the program.

Issac sang Sinatra’s My Way, with Bryan and Jake accompanying him on trumpets. Very nice!

Then time for diplomas…

And a reception…

With fun detail boards about each student.

Congratulations Bryan!! We are all proud of you!

Both sets of grandparents came, as well as his aunt Laura.

After all the photos were taken and gifts distributed, the whole class fit in this huge stretch limo for a tour of the town, then a stay-up-late celebratory party at one of the classmate’s home. They partied far later than I stayed up!

In the kitchen window of Loren and Karen’s house, is a nice model of their gorgeous plane. The other day we ran down to the airport to see the actual plane…

And got a bit distracted by this cool old Stearman biplane in the hanger across the way…

And then got to see the glamorous Cirrus!

An awesome aircraft – fast, sophisticated, and gorgeous. Can’t wait to get to fly in her! Soon!
