Back in Spokane, we got to spend time with our cool family. Part of the reason we headed back early is that Karen is having a foot problem and has to wear a big clunky boot for a while. We thought maybe we could be of service to her now…
One day we talked Bryan into a mini-concert to show off his ukulele skills…

So here’s about a 3 minute video with some pretty amazing moves.
Our visiting friends Jeffrey and Brooke take a rest… not from listening to Bryan, though. (A different day.)

Both our grandkids enjoy flying… through the air onto the couch! Ashlyn let me video her flying for your amazement:
Ashlyn’s school, Upper Columbia Academy, has some pretty hot soccer teams. We watched the UCA boy’s team beat a visiting team 4-0. Fun game!

Loren and Karen are having their shower rebuilt. This tile guy, Gary, is really good. I had never seen these cool little red things before. They are called “Spin Doctors” and they make sure the faces of all the tiles are perfectly flush. Cool new stuff! It was great fun watching these guys do such a great job!

Here’s the shower after the “Measles” were cured:

One afternoon we wanted to go for a nice walk, or bike ride. We asked Jeffrey and Brooke to join us (and suggest a suitable location.) We ended up on the Centennial Trail, a trail which we have tried to visit a couple times before, but always got sidetracked. It is nicely paved, so Karen could go on her little scooter thing and avoid crutches.

We were told that the Centennial Trail starts in the Riverside State Park northwest of Spokane, and heads east well into Idaho. The Idaho Centennial Trail runs north and south, the entire length of the state. (995.6 miles.) Both trails were started around 1989, and celebrate their centennial years. (1989 and 1990, respectively.) I think these two trails connect, but we didn’t walk that far!

A beautiful day for a walk with beautiful people!

Your grandson is awesome on that ukr
