Wild Things @ Omaha Zoo

While in Lincoln, we had enough time to get a bit of work done. One fun thing is helping Kevin with projects around their house… and here we got to spruce up the fort in the back yard.

The view from the top of the fort was very nice, as we were putting tools away!

A couple of weeks ago I mentioned a little adventure we had with a blown fuse. In Wilcox Arizona a very special 150 amp fuse bit the dust, and my engine won’t start without it. We drove all over downtown Wilcox (4 stores) and nobody had the right fuse… but I bought one that was the right amperage, but physically too large. I bent it up to make it fit in the space required, and even though it looked terrible, it worked! The original looked just like the 150 below it. Well, it worked fine, but in Lincoln I found a shop that would order them for me, and I got a new one and a spare. I replaced my jerry-rigged fuse and it feels better now!

Memorial Day found us with family and friends at the Omaha Zoo. Really a beautiful zoo, and even better with all the fun company! I decided I’d try to make a short video of the adventure… and it turns out it’s composed mainly of kids running away to the next thing!

So here’s the little video of Wild Things @ the Zoo – and some animals too!

The campground we stay at in Lincoln is sometimes interesting, but not really pretty. It is very close to the David Murdock trail, which is very pretty. A very nice walking trail, where we would usually see at least 13 species of birds.

A cute little park is at the end of the block from our kid’s home, and the grandkids like playing on the park gadgets. One evening a Vegan Restaurant Food Truck was scheduled to arrive in time for dinner, and we felt obligated to patronize it! Jeanne and Steve joined us for a fun unique dinner at the park.

Grammy award winning Christian singer and songwriter Rebecca St. James was a guest star at the Church’s camp meeting… It was great to see her in person, and a nice way to finish out the week!
