If you read last week’s post, you may guess that this week was a bit… well, everyone was just trying to cope.
There are six grandkids and cousins that needed something to use up some energy and give some of the adults quiet time… or time to do needed paperwork…
So Cherryl, Becky and I took all the kids miniature golfing. Not a lot of time off, but every bit was helpful.
We went to a place not far from where we all live. We’d never been there before (I guess we don’t do a lot of mini-golf.) The kids all seemed to know the place very well, and couldn’t believe we’d never been.
It was really hot, well into the 90’s, but there was a lot of shade and a lot of natural beauty.
Becky kindly went ahead with the youngest, the three boys. Cherryl and I golfed with the three girls.

More than one way to claim victory!
I guess it’s understood – after golfing here you get flavored shaved-ice. Not a bad treat with the mercury pushing the high 90’s!
A couple of weeks ago, Steve bought a tree for their backyard. The nursery was holding it till he could get it picked up. When asked how we could help him, he said picking up and planting that tree would take a load off his mind. I said I’d take care of it. Our good friend David, center picture below, said he could get a few guys to help out. Steve had toyed with getting a total of three new trees, and since we had all the help coming, we got them all at once. Another good friend loaned me his trailer, so I could pick up the trees from the nursery. He couldn’t be there for a while, but said he’d come by. He got there just as we finished! So George is the guy on the right, all decked out to work but just in time to approve the job. I didn’t take a picture of the finally planted trees, but they are all visible behind hard working George on the left picture. A big thank you to George for the trailer and tools, and David and his three helpers! They made the work go really quickly, and even fun!
