Our first snow! In this house. That I got a picture of. We had a tiny bit of flurries, but it looked nice. The seams in the pavement turned white, but that’s about all the accumulation we had. Here is a few seconds of video snow.
More fun was helping Becky in her “Pop Up” Chocolate Shop. Below are shots of some of the goodies for sale… at this point the treats are bagged, but not sealed. Made for some interesting visuals. We later sealed everything up.

The actual sale was in a retirement facility. Occasionally they invite specialty shops to come in and have a two hour sale. Becky did one a while back at a sister establishment, and they invited her to this one. It was a lot of fun, and she sold a lot of chocolate! So much beautiful stuff! Many folks will have a tasty Christmas!

They had Becky set up the shop in a main hallway, just off the foyer. Behind the chocolate display was a room with historical artifacts, including this fun 1909 Hupmobile Runabout.
Bobby Hupp produced his first car in 1909, so this is one of only 500 made that year. In 1911 Hupmobile was the first American car to feature and all-steel body. The process was very cumbersome, and they only produced steel bodies for a couple of years. A year after they quit, and went back to more “conventional” body work, Dodge went to an all-steel body. They get credit for the first truly mass produced steel bodies in America.

A funny story regarding Hupmobile: In 1914, Eric Wickman tried to establish a Hupmobile dealership but could not sell them so he started transporting miners in one of the vehicles and founded Greyhound Lines.
One other highlight of the week (?) was installation of a water softener. I felt it would be a good thing for our new home, and decided to do it myself. The hard part was carrying the heavy thing downstairs to the utility room. The scary part was cutting into the main water line of a perfectly fine new house! But all my research (and prayers) paid off, and we got it all plumbed in, and no leaks so far!

The house two doors down is really taking shape quickly. It feels just days ago they were digging the hole for the foundation- now they have finished the foundation walls and are pumping concrete in for the basement floor. Fun to watch all the busy construction!

I’ve noticed that Lincoln has a lot of very pretty sunsets and sunrises…
