It seems we’ve been Speed’n across an awful lot of this country lately!
We spent only two days in Lincoln, after driving there from Nashville. The next goal was to get to Spokane by the 4th of July, when both daughters, and their families would hang out at Loren and Karen’s home for the holiday.

So we zoomed across country – stopping for a night’s rest in Ogallala, Nebraska, Casper, Wyoming, and Livingston, Montana.

This place looks nice with the trees so close, but it was really rundown and TOO tight.

So we finally found where all those socks go!

We also stopped at a few rest stops for lunch. The lunches there are great… if you are eating in your motorhome!

We made it to Loren and Karen’s house Wednesday afternoon. The next day was the 4th of July; a great day to go boating! We figured the lake would be super-crowded, so we arrived early. The lake was great, and not really crowded at all!

Here’s Bryan on the wake board:

I tried a bit of wake surfing:

There were lots more pictures of that day on the lake, but you’ll have to watch the video {Movie} below for some awesome watersports!
Our friend Jeffrey has a terrific hobby – he makes Bonsai trees! His family was out of town, so my grandkids were watering his cool trees for him. I got to tag along on the evening of the 4th, and was very impressed at the wonderful trees he’s fashioning! And so many! I can’t do them justice in these crowded pictures – trust me, they’re beautiful.

That evening it was time to stretch out the table – more family is arriving!

Kevin, Becky and kids arrived as darkness fell, and they were driven straight from the airport to the fireworks show! It was really great; far better than any pictures I bothered to take. The show started with a drone-show… 500 drones with multicolored lights making moving pictures in the sky. I really failed at capturing photos of the drones. One picture below shows the sponsor’s logo…

The morning of the 5th found us preparing for another day on the lake:

Again, the weather was perfect, and the lake not really crowded at all. We had a great time boarding, surfing, knee boarding and tubing.

Below I present a video {Movie} of some of the fun on the lake. I need to explain one thing: The section with Bryan catching Pretzel Bites while surfing. Karen would toss a pretzel to him and he’d try to catch it, which he did with great acumen! Once he caught it in his mouth! Another time he caught one and tossed it back to the boat, where it hit Karen on the shoulder and bounced back into the jar! (That shot didn’t make the video.)
Hope you enjoy the Movie!
An awesome 4th celebration with the whole wonderful family!

Wow, I made the blog! Indirectly 🙂
That was so cool! Can’t believe the lake didn’t fill with other boats wanting to have what you all were having! And I don’t just mean the pretzel bites.
