Music, Zoo Lights & a Disappearing House

Dayna and Peter, some of our special grandkids, were performing in their school Christmas Music programs. Great Fun! The kids all did really well – the start of a wonderful Christmas season.

Saturday morning the kids put on a play about the Christmas story. As part of a trio, Dayna sang a very complicated part and it was beautiful!

A couple dozen wives in the church bought their husbands a certain green sweater… and then had them wear them to church. None of the guys were aware that they’d been set up, until they saw how many others were in the same sweater! Here are most of them showing off the new duds.

That afternoon some of the kids sang for the Good Neighbor Center. The center provides food and clothing for those in need. They have a really great program and help hundreds of folks.

Saturday night was Zoo Lights Night. We’ve gone here before, when it was super cold and thought we’d freeze to death. So this time we wore everything we own, and it wasn’t that cold out! Was the weather really better, or were we just more prepared?

Possibly there are fewer lights here than at Silver Dollar City, but it’s pretty close! Lights are on everything!

Grandkids, their cousins and friends… If you have Eagle Eyes you can find Dayna and Peter.

If you used Eagle Eyes for that last picture, you can give them back to this guy now.

One area has hundreds (thousands?) of long strands of lights, and the lights change color with the music. It’s really far prettier than I can explain.

Fabulous lights are everywhere! The only thing missing at the zoo are the animals… They are tucked away out of sight, protected from the cold and the thousands of visitors. The only animal we saw was the Red Panda, who lives in his own house near the entrance.

The final display covered an acre or so with stalks of light and pillars behind… Well, just watch the video:

Here’s a short video showing the fate of one of Becky’s wonderful Chocolate Houses!
