The Week Flew By

Early in the week we were privileged to have Ashlyn join us for a little bike ride. We just road a ways along High Drive, with its nice views of the valley below.

Ashlyn LOVES climbing… and has a climbing hold practice thing in the basement. The addition of big weights on her feet makes this a true feat!

Loren offered to let me fly right seat in his rented Cirrus SR22T as he flew to work in Kennewick. A beautiful morning, a gorgeous plane, a great pilot… what else could I do?

Even the hanger where the owner keeps the Cirrus is beautiful! It is home to not only the Cirrus, but an Icon (A flying water-sport plane to play with on the water or in the air) a nice living room/kitchen/bathroom, and room in the corner to park your Porsche or Jaguar or Range Rover.

I love the panel on the Cirrus… the sophistication is mind boggling! A far cry from the Cessna 172’s I learned in!

Here we are on short final to land back at Felts Field in Spokane. A lot of seaplanes use the river directly adjacent to the airport.

This is the most sophisticated craft I’m flying nowadays… We’ve been enjoying Loren and Karen’s hospitality for a while now, parked in their front yard.

Here’s the whole family out for a little walk on the driveway. For some reason, our grandkids keep acting like teenagers!

While Loren worked during our day in Kennewick, I sat in a guest office and worked on last week’s blog. When he was done with the day’s surgery, we drove to a nice shop that has fresh fruit, and picked up a box of wonderful peaches. Here are a few that we’ve chosen to freeze. Who knows if they will end up as pies, peach crisps, or smoothies?
